EXPLORE THE SCIENCE OF HEALTH

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine is an approach to healthcare that focuses on treating the root causes of illness rather than just managing symptoms. It emphasizes personalized treatment plans based on an individual's unique genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Central to Functional Medicine is the use of diet, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal health and address chronic diseases. This holistic approach aims to restore balance in the body and empower patients to take an active role in their health through sustainable lifestyle changes.

Medication weaning

Our goal is to help reduce or eliminate the need for certain medications by addressing the underlying causes of your condition. With the guidance of a medical professional, we use a personalized approach that emphasizes lifestyle changes, nutrition, and supplements when appropriate.

We take time to educate you about what’s going on in your body—so you understand the “why” behind your symptoms and how to take control of your health.

This approach is helpful for a variety of chronic conditions, including:

  • GERD (acid reflux)

  • High blood pressure (hypertension)

  • Type 2 diabetes

  • Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
